Privacy policy
Glaze is a home-screen launcher. This page explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. There is no account, and we don't sell your personal information.
Information that stays on your phone
Your home-screen layout (which apps sit where, folders and their names), coins, theme, daily check-in streak and settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.
To show your apps, Glaze reads the list of launchable apps and their icons from Android. That list never leaves the phone. Search runs on the phone and sends nothing. Glaze does not request access to your contacts, location, photos, call log, notifications of other apps or accessibility services, and it never changes your wallpaper.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Glaze is free and shows a small banner on its Themes and Settings screens, plus rewarded videos you can choose to watch for coins, through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- approximate location derived from your IP address,
- information about how you interact with ads, and basic device and app information.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Glaze under Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings.
Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)
To understand which features are used, the app may send anonymous usage events to Google Firebase Analytics, such as opening an app from the home screen (without saying which app), applying a theme, earning or spending coins, and collecting the daily check-in. These events are tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or email. Firebase may also collect basic device information such as model and operating-system version.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Glaze shows an evening reminder to collect your daily check-in. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and need no internet connection or server. You can turn them off in Settings or in Android's notification settings.
Children
Glaze is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us below.
Data security and retention
Data sent to Google's advertising and analytics services travels over encrypted connections and is kept according to Google's policies. Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- Change ad consent in Settings > Ad privacy choices (where offered).
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Turn off reminders in Settings.
- Delete all local data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
- Stop using Glaze as your home screen at any time from Android's default-apps settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
